Welcome to Ferrygate Camping

A secluded waterside location in the heart of the Broads National Park.

Ferrygate Camping is a traditional site located right next to the water.  There are no electric hook-ups and no set pitches, located in the middle of 9 acres of glorious countryside and nature it’s easy to relax to the sounds of Mother Nature.  Caravans and motorhomes are not permitted, although small campervans are allowed if they have a canvas awning that can be used.  After a day’s exploring, entertainment by night comes from campfire cooking and toasting marshmallows whilst enjoying the space; and due to this being a low light pollution site, stargazing is inevitably breath-taking.

The Norfolk Broads are a water lover’s paradise.  With over 120 miles of navigable lock-free waterways, as well as 63 broads which have channels and cuts that can only be reached by Stand-Up Paddle Board, Kayak or Canoe make for a perfect way to explore.   For those that prefer land-based adventures there are miles of the stunning sandy beaches, numerous walking trails and cycle routes both on and off-road awaiting hikers and cyclists alike … and all from the site.  This really is the best location for waterside living under canvas.

Martham is a quaint village and only a 1 mile walk up a quiet lane.  It has a large green with duckpond, post office and Co-Op as well as a good pub and take-away options.  The beautiful coastal village of Winterton-on-Sea is only a ten-minute drive away and offers not only a majestical sandy beach perfect for taking a dip in, as well as the wonderous Winterton Dunes National Nature Reserve, superb pubs and tea-room.  Other local sandy beaches include Horsey for Seal Spotting, Sea Palling, Waxham and Happisburg all driveable from the campsite.  Across the water from the campsite you can hire day boats meaning access to the best of the Broads is on your doorstep - you needn’t use the car at all.
